The EDL Automotive Experience
Elton, owner & operator, is an ASE Certified Master Technician with over 28 years of professional automotive repair experience and a life time of mastering his craft. He started ripping apart car engines in the middle of his mother’s driveway so she could drive his little sister to school the next day before he even had a license to drive his own vehicle. With his stack of small block engine manuals next to his bed, he quickly began building super engines that he would race at the track and down back roads with his brother.
Elton was made for mechanics and was able to utilize his education and work to feed his passion to know more, do more and to create more. He understands the ins and outs of every vehicle, allowing him an uncanny ability to diagnose the root problem, while giving you different options to work within your budget. He will always go above and beyond to get you back on the road ASAP.
Our Story
Elton, owner & operator, is a Spencerport and WeMoCo Technical School Alumni. His grandfather, who taught him the benefits of determination and hard work, had been a Spencerport resident for 70 years and had a long family history living on Rochester’s westside. Elton has raised his family here and his son graduated from Spencerport High School in 2018 and went on to get his certification at Arc & Flame in the welding and fabrication program. His daughter, also a Spencerport Alumni, graduated from Nazareth College in 2019 with a BS in Business. His wife who he met while both working at Pep Boys is a graduate of SUNY Brockport’s Business Department and has supported Elton’s longtime dream of opening his own automotive repair shop. Elton is excited to be serving the Spencerport and surround areas.
In January 2021, his son, Joshua, joined the EDL Automotive team. His inherited mechanical ability allowed him to fit right in and his welding and fabrication background made him a valuable asset to EDL Automotive. Joshua is a NYS inspector for annual vehicle inspections.

I would like to start this story from the beginning around five years ago. I bought a 1970 GTX and the 440 6 barrel was not running right. A friend of mine suggested a mechanic that he knew and introduced me to Elton. He fixed the GTX and it was running like never before. Since then, he has done many repairs with all of the workmanship meeting my expectations. We talked throughout the years of doing a hell crate swap in the 1970 Challenger. Well, last year was the year he took on the challenge. The car is now done, and the results are fantastic. The workmanship looks like if Dodge made that motor in 1970, the factory would have installed it that way. I am so pleased with how the team at EDL Automotive knocked this project out of the park. I wouldn’t trust any other mechanics to work on my cars and the family-owned business is such a friendly atmosphere. Thanks again EDL Automotive! The car is out of this world.
